HCMC Women’s Center Newborn Hearing Screener
In 2012, the Paris and Henry County Healthcare Foundation has focused fundraising efforts on the purchase of a newborn hearing screener for the Women’s Center at HCMC. Fundraising efforts for the $20,000 piece of equipment have been going for approximately a year, but the Foundation hopes to have this project completed by June 2012. In May 2012, the Foundation held its first ever Evening of Chocolate Delight that raised approximately $2,500 towards the equipment fund and did a second year of the Mother’s Day Tea Letter campaign.
Caring Hearts Fundraisers
In 2012, the Paris and Henry County Healthcare Foundation continues to raise funds for cancer patients with a financial need receiving care at the Cancer Care Center of Henry County or at HCMC Outpatient Chemo. In February, the fund did a Steak and Chicken Sandwich fundraiser and raised approximately $2,000. June 16, 2012, the fund hosted the first ever Chairs that Care Silent and Live Chair Auction, raising $3,000.
Additionally, the fund will be doing Turkey Bowling in October as well as a Fashion Show and Luncheon on October 11, in recognition of Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

Men Who Cook for Healthcare
On August 18, Men Who Cook for Healthcare as well as John Austin will be setting the fundraising stage at the Hampton Inn Paris Convention Center. Male chefs or male chef teams will be providing samples of their food to event goers who will pick the People’s Choice awards. Categories include appetizer, dessert, entree, side dish, and healthy dish.
Cost is $15 for the food from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. $10 for the entertainment from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. or $25 to attend both events. Costs will be more at the door. Armbands will be available at HCMC Pink Petal Gift Shop, Cancer Care Center of Henry County, My Favorite Things, and the Paris Henry County Chamber of Commerce. Funds will be split between the Healthcare Foundation and Caring Hearts Fund.
