PARIS, TN – During the Department Director’s meeting on Thursday, April 26, 2018, HCMC Administration recognized Joshua Roberts, Director of Physician Practice Management, as Department Director of the Quarter.
Lisa Casteel, CEO, presented Roberts with the recognition for his exemplary service. “It is an honor to recognize Joshua Roberts as our Department Director of the Quarter,” said Casteel. “Josh began with us as a volunteer intern for healthcare experience while working on his masters in Healthcare Administration. We were very impressed with his skills and offered him the role as the Physician Practice Manager.”
When Roberts began at HCMC in 2012, two physicians and a physician assistant were employed in the clinics. Today, over 90 people are employed in the physician clinics, with 14 physicians and nine Advanced Practice Practitioners. HCMC implemented an Electronic Health Record System and recently received the designation as Rural Health Clinic for Paris Pediatrics.
“Josh was key to building this program and receiving this designation. The Rural Health Clinic status allowed us to maintain this clinic in our community for our children and financially sustain it on its own,” said Casteel. “We are now turned to working on another designation, Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC), for our Family Practice, OB/GYN, and Behavioral Health clinics. Josh is always on the move with these clinics. Thank you again for your service and dedication to our community.”
Roberts has been with HCMC since 2012, and was previously a history professor at Bethel University. Roberts and his wife Stephanie live in Paris, with their children Carter and Scarlett. He earned his Bachelor’s degree at the University of Kentucky and his MBA from Bethel University. Additionally, he obtained his Master’s and Doctorate from Vanderbilt University. Roberts enjoys camping, hiking, and reading.
