PARIS, TN – Louisa Conroy, MD, who will soon be practicing at The Griffey Clinic, has graduated from the Fellowship in Integrative Medicine at the Center for Integrative Medicine, at the University of Arizona College of Medicine—Tucson.  Henry County Medical Center is excited to welcome Dr. Conroy to Paris and looks forward to having this specialty available to patients in the region.

Dr. Conroy, a board certified Family Medicine Physician, joins an elite group of practitioners to have completed studies with this internationally-recognized integrative medicine program. Launched in 1997 by integrative health and medicine pioneer Andrew Weil, MD, the Fellowship in Integrative Medicine is a two-year program for physicians, nurse practitioners and physician assistants.

“We’re excited to have Dr. Conroy as a graduate of this competitive and intensive program of study,” said Ann Marie Chiasson, MD, interim director of the fellowship for the UA Center for Integrative Medicine. “She showed a deep commitment to medicine and patient care prior to the fellowship and I’m fully confident that these two years of additional training will give Louisa the tools to excel in integrative medicine and become a leader in the field.”

Dr. Conroy is originally from Clarksville, TN.  She completed her undergraduate degree from Rhodes College and attended the University of Tennessee Health Science Center in Memphis for medical school.  She did her residency in Family Medicine through the University of North Carolina at Mountain Area Health Education Center in Hendersonville, NC.

“I particularly enjoy Integrative, Lifestyle, and preventative medicine and have a particular interest in nutrition,” said Dr. Conroy.  “I am looking forward to starting my practice in Paris and introducing the community to Integrative Medicine.”

Integrative medicine is an approach to care that puts the patient at the center and addresses the full range of physical, emotional, mental, social, spiritual and environmental influences that affect a person’s health. Employing a personalized strategy that considers the patient’s unique conditions, needs and circumstances, it uses the most appropriate interventions from an array of scientific disciplines to heal illness and disease and help people regain and maintain optimum health.

Dr. Conroy is married to Steve Dial with a family of three dogs and 10 cats.  She has ties to Henry County, with her parents and two of her brothers and their families living in Henry County.  When not working or scooping litter boxes, she enjoys hiking, whole food plant-based cooking and dabbling in photography as well as edible gardening.

Dr. Conroy is scheduled to begin seeing patients in March.  To book your appointment with Dr. Conroy, call the Griffey Clinic at 731-642-3024. The Griffey Clinic is located at 430 South Lake Street, behind the HCMC Diagnostic Center.
