Paris, TN – Thanks to Andrew Lundberg, MD, Perrylogic Brewing, and the community for coming out to support the event, Don’t Stand So Close to Me, raised a little over $2,000 for Cardiac Rehab.
The Paris and Henry County Healthcare Foundation sold t-shirts at the event and a portion of proceeds from the event were given to the fundraiser. Donations from those in attendance were also accepted, with an estimated $2,012 raised.
Arthur Lodge, father of one of the owners of Perrylogic, Jonathon Lodge, talked to the crowd at the event about the Cardiac Rehab program along with Lisa Casteel, CEO at HCMC. Dr. Lundberg and his band, “Andy’s Day Off,” played tunes from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m.

Henry County Medical Center Cardiac Rehabilitation outpatient program has been offering many phases of rehab to Henry County and the region for many years with devoted patients striving to improve and reverse side effects of a heart attack or other heart-related issues they have encountered. And, HCMC Cardiac Rehab is now offering a new vascular rehab program for Peripheral Arterial Disease with the goal to increase pain-free walking time and improve the patient’s overall quality of life.
Each year, roughly 915,000 Americans will have a heart attack and more than 30% will have a second and potentially fatal event. Cardiac rehabilitation reduces the risk of a future cardiac event by stabilizing, slowing or even reversing the progression of cardiovascular disease. Patients with other cardiovascular diseases such as valve repair, heart failure, and transplants also benefit from cardiac rehabilitation programs. Heart Disease is the number one health issue for our county, so raising funds for our heart program is priority for our Healthcare Foundation Board. They have set the goal of raising $60,000 to purchase new telemetry equipment to monitor our patients in the cardiac rehab program, care that is crucial in recovery and survival.
“We are extremely excited to be able to host two events for the Healthcare Foundation during the month of June,” said Tory Daughrity, Director of Marketing and PR at HCMC. “We are thankful to Perrylogic and Dr. Lundberg for thinking of us to partner with on this fun event on June 20. We are all ready for a little social distancing activity and hope to celebrate our healthcare workers who come out that night. We are also excited to offer a little retail therapy the last week of June for our healthcare professionals in the area. Funds for our programs are even more important at this time and we are glad to be able to raise some money after having to cancel both our spring event and our annual geranium/plant sale.”
