Paris, TN – The Paris and Henry County Healthcare Foundation is excited to have two upcoming fundraisers to benefit the HCMC Cardiac Rehabilitation program, this fiscal year’s project of the Board of Directors.
The first is an event at Perrylogic Brewing Company featuring Dr. Andrew Lundberg’s band, “Andy’s Day Off” along with some fabulous beer, food, games, and prizes. The event, “Don’t Stand So Close to Me,” will be on Saturday, June 20 from 12 Noon to 8 p.m. The band will play from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. featuring classic 80s tunes.
The event will observe social distancing guidelines along with sanitation recommendations by the CDC. The Healthcare Foundation will have shirts to sell along with some information and give-aways. A portion of proceeds from the event will be given to the Healthcare Foundation for the Cardiac Rehab program, one that is near and dear to one of the owner’s hearts, Jonathon Lodge. His father, Arthur, was a heart transplant recipient several years ago and utilizes the program at HCMC.
The Healthcare Foundation will also be hosting a Uniform Sale on Monday, June 29 from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., with a percentage of the sales going to them. Uniform Headquarters will be set up for a sale outside the HCMC Cafeteria with their Mobile Scrub Boutique. Check out Uniform Headquarters’ new mobile boutique and shop for uniforms, shoes, and accessories. The public is invited to attend this sale. Payroll deduction is available for HCMC employees.

Henry County Medical Center Cardiac Rehabilitation outpatient program has been offering many phases of rehab to Henry County and the region for many years with devoted patients striving to improve and reverse side effects of a heart attack or other heart-related issues they have encountered. And, HCMC Cardiac Rehab is now offering a new vascular rehab program for Peripheral Arterial Disease with the goal to increase pain-free walking time and improve the patient’s overall quality of life.
Each year, roughly 915,000 Americans will have a heart attack and more than 30% will have a second and potentially fatal event. Cardiac rehabilitation reduces the risk of a future cardiac event by stabilizing, slowing or even reversing the progression of cardiovascular disease. Patients with other cardiovascular diseases such as valve repair, heart failure, and transplants also benefit from cardiac rehabilitation programs. Heart Disease is the number one health issue for our county, so raising funds for our heart program is priority for our Healthcare Foundation Board. They have set the goal of raising $60,000 to purchase new telemetry equipment to monitor our patients in the cardiac rehab program, care that is crucial in recovery and survival.

We are all ready for a little social distancing activity and hope to celebrate our healthcare workers who come out that night. We are also excited to offer a little retail therapy the last week of June for our healthcare professionals in the area. Funds for our programs are even more important at this time and we are glad to be able to raise some money after having to cancel both our spring event and our annual geranium/plant sale.”
