HCMC to Host Be Your Own Kind of Beautiful – Celebrate Your Own Style Women’s Health Advisory Council Little Black Dress Event

Paris, TN – You are unique and that’s what makes you beautiful. Henry County Medical Center wants to celebrate this uniqueness this fall as we provide a series of unique events and activities dedicated to discovering and celebrating your own style.

HCMC’s Women’s Health Advisory Council will be hosting its annual Spirit of Women Little Black Dress event this Thursday, September 20 at 5:30 p.m. at the Paris Convention Center to a completely packed crowed.  Tickets for the event are free and became available about two weeks ago.  Every ticket is now spoken for to this highly anticipated event.

As in past years, HCMC is bringing in a national speaker to grace the stage and help each of us learn to embrace our uniqueness and focus on our own health.  The night will begin with appetizers and drinks with featured beverages provided by Pepsi MidAmerica and food provided by Miss D’s.  During the social hour, participants can mingle and enjoy the educational booths available at the event.  Each woman will receive a special charm to add to the bracelets that were distributed last year and Spirit of Women members will receive an additional special charm while supplies last.  Other goodies will also be available.

Again this year, we will be offering many door prizes and hosting the Sassiest Black Dress contest.  Women can take selfies and enjoy our backdrop for fun photos at the event.  Women can also pick up a comprehensive guide on recommended screenings and tests for the best health yet.

The event will be emceed by our featured guests, Joey Fortman, Reality Moms and Sandy O’Brien, Creative Juice Group, as they focus on you:  If the Shoe Fits: How to bedazzle, be true, be mindful and be you one foot at a time!

Joey Fortman, 20+ year on-air radio/tv vet, turned MOM, took her career to a whole different dimension when she left the full-time radio business in 2008 to bring her story to life online.

With real life recovery of Postpartum Depression, Joey started blogging through her loneliness, depression & real life identity crisis.  Watching the digital destiny of women fade away because of the behavior of other women online, Joey started Real Mom Media & Reality Moms to give women a real place to be themselves. Reality Moms share stories of motherhood through all walks of life. Joey is a contributor to many digital outlets including Quirky Momma & Kids Activities Blog where she hosts a travel/tech & toy show to over 3.2 million fans.  Aside from Reality Moms, Joey has taken her voice to Good Morning America, Today Show, Dr. Oz, NickMom, The Talk, Dr. Phil, Fox & Friends and so many more. When not laughing with her kids, Joey can be found face first in her Swear Word Coloring Book.

Sandy O, was born and raised in Philadelphia, this U of Delaware and Drexel educated gypsy bounced from Hawaii to California, where she worked as a scenic artist in Hollywood, then back to her roots in Philly. Never one to “color in the lines”, or accept satisfaction from the status quo, Sandy always pushes to make each creation more interactive, more sparkly, more over the top than the last one.

Additionally, Morgan Stone, FNP at KY Lake Urologic Associates will provide health tips for women on how to feel and be beautiful with good health.

Though the event is free, the Women’s Health Advisory Council is requesting donations to go to the Paris and Henry County Healthcare Foundation’s newest project, the ER renovation.

“I am extremely excited about this event on Thursday evening,” said Tory Daughrity, Director of Marketing and Public Relations at HCMC.  “It is always a great event but it is extra special because I will get a chance to see Joey Fortman, an alumnus of MSU and a prior radio DJ at Froggy 103.7 FM and Electric 96.9 FM.  I worked with Joey years ago and it will be a pleasure to hear her speak.  She is a live wire and everyone is going to have an absolute blast!”

Though this event is currently full, there will be opportunities to watch videos from the event on social media and later on our YouTube channel.  Additionally, if you missed out on this event, you can be sure to join us in October for our annual Mammothon and Breast Cancer Awareness Event activities.  Be sure to watch for upcoming dates and registration on our website.
