HCMC Names Daughrity Department Manager of the Year

Paris, TN-In ceremonies to award service recognition on Wednesday, May 10, HCMC Administration recognized 80 people representing over 1,120 years of service for the hospital. The hospital holds records for service longevity – with this year two 45 year recipients were recognized for their service to HCMC.

In addition to recognition of the medical center’s partner of the year, the medical center’s manager of the year was awarded. Tory Daughrity, Director of Marketing and Public Relations, was named Manager of the Year.

Tom Gee, FACHE, CEO presented Daughrity with the title for her exemplary services, noting “her ability to juggle a wide range of issues, projects and activities on a daily basis,” as one of her greatest strengths.   Daughrity serves as the Director for the Marketing and Public Relations Department as well as the Director of the Paris and Henry County Healthcare Foundation. As Director of Marketing and Public Relations, Daughrity’s efforts have resulted in new programs like the HCMC Pelvic Health Program and several national awards for Marketing and PR for the organization. As Director of the Healthcare Foundation, her efforts led to the attainment of a nearly $1 Million grant for a coalition of health entities across West Tennessee.

“As the lead organization, HCMC, through our Foundation, has been able to pilot population management programs throughout our region,” said Gee. “The efforts of Daughrity and her department have led to the development of a pharmacy assistance program, chronic disease management program, a nurse navigator position and other programs helping to improve the health of Henry County and the surrounding region.”

Daughrity has been the Director of Marketing and Public Relations at HCMC since 2008, and worked at the American Red Cross and Murray-Calloway County Hospital before coming to Paris.  She is President Elect of the Rotary Club of Paris and serves on the Henry County Chamber Board of Directors as Vice President of Tourism and the Carl Perkins Center Board. She is also a TSHMPR Board Member and a member of SHSMD. Daughrity and her husband live in Murray, Kentucky with their daughter Alyssa. Daughrity is the daughter of Mike and Vicky Holton of Murray. She attended Murray State University earning her Bachelor of Arts degree in Music Performance and Public Relations. Additionally, she obtained her Masters in Mass Communication at Murray State University.

“Tory is a great leader, she gives tirelessly to the organization and to the community, and sets a great example for her peers,” said Meagan Hart, Marketing and Special Projects Coordinator at HCMC. “Her passion for the organization is infectious and has helped to grow not just our department but the organization as a whole.”
