Dedicate This Mother’s Day to You – Make Time for a Mammogram

Paris, TN – Women always seem to put their family members’ health ahead of their own needs, but this Mother’s Day can be a different story. This year, take time out of your busy schedule to dedicate time to your own healthcare needs and schedule that annual mammogram at Henry County Medical Center’s Diagnostic Center.

Spring offers a gentle reminder of things we tucked away for winter, including scheduling that pesky annual mammogram screening. The best part is that this year, you can take advantage of our annual Mother’s Day Mammothon to schedule your appointment and pamper yourself with a special gift, food, and give-aways.

The HCMC Diagnostic Center will be hosting its Annual Mother’s Day Mammothon on Thursday, May 18 from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Friday, May 19 from 5 a.m. to 6 p.m. Mammograms will be scheduled by HCMC central registration at 644-8486, option 1 on a first come, first serve basis.

One in eight women will develop breast cancer in her lifetime. Yearly mammography screenings and monthly breast self-exams are the best early detection tools. The American Cancer Society recommends that women 40 and older get a mammogram every year.

Any man who is looking for the perfect Mother’s Day gift might consider giving his wife, mother, sister or daughter the gift of peace of mind or even life, a mammogram. Henry County Medical Center is committed to the health of women in our community. HCMC is a Pink Ribbon Facility for Excellence in Breast Health as well as accredited by the ACR. Additionally, the Diagnostic Center was recognized as one of the best centers in 2013 by Imaging Economics.
