    Cancer Support Group
    11:30am - 1:00pm
    First Presbyterian Church in Paris at 11:30 a.m. The Cancer Care Center of Henry County, The Healthcare Foundation, and Henry County Medical Center come together to offer a support group for cancer patients and their caregivers every 2nd Thursday of each month. Lunch is provided, but you must RSVP for the support group meetings. To RSVP, call the HCMC Find Line at 731-644-3463 or e-mail Lori Stambaugh, Community Health Educator at lstambaugh@hcmc.vewebsites.com The group meets at the First Presbyterian Church in Paris at 11:30 a.m. For more information, call the Paris and Henry County Healthcare Foundation at 644-8215 or call the Cancer Care Center at 731-644-3522.

    Total Joint Replacement Class
    12:30pm - 2:00pm
    Before joint replacement surgery at HCMC, join the Orthopedic Center for Wellness staff for an informative session on total joint replacement. You & Your Family Will Learn:
    • About Joint Replacement Surgery
    • Preparing For Surgery
    • About Your Hospital Stay
    • Recovery Tips & Going Home
    • Rehabilitation (Inpatient/Outpatient/Home Health)
    Participants will receive a book and education from Orthopedics Nurses as well as Debbie Jelks, PT, Director of Rehab Services.  A video featuring the healthcare providers at HCMC will be provided.  There will be a question and answer session.  Lunch will be provided.  We begin with meal and pharmacy review at 12:30 p.m. then have PowerPoint presentation in class from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m.The class is free, and for more information call 731-644-3463 or 731-642-2411. If you are scheduled for joint replacement surgery, this class is mandatory and you will be scheduled by your surgeon with Central Scheduling so that you may attend Pre Admission Testing the same day as class.  If you are not scheduled for surgery and would like to learn more about attending, call for more information.

    Tuesday, February 18, 2020 at 5 p.m. HCMC Classrooms 2 & 3 Presented by HCMC Lake Haven Behavioral Center Alzheimer's Association MidSouth Chapter Alzheimer's Association® caregiver support groups, conducted by trained facilitators, are a safe place for caregivers, family and friends of persons with dementia to: • Develop a support system. • Exchange practical information on caregiving challenges and possible solutions. • Talk through issues and ways of coping. • Share feelings, needs and concerns • Learn about community resources. Please RSVP by calling HCMC's FindLine at 731-644-3463 or register online at hcmc.vewebsites.com so we know how many snacks to prepare.     Bright Beginnings Breastfeeding Support Group
    10:00am - 11:00am
    Breastfeeding is hard work and Henry County Medical Center’s Bright Beginnings Program wants to provide education and support to its mothers. Join our weekly support group for expecting moms and new moms who are interested in breastfeeding or who are currently breastfeeding newborn babies or babies up to one year of age. Our goal is for you and your baby to be successful at breastfeeding. Every Wednesday at 10 a.m. (meetings will last approximately one hour) HCMC Women's Center OB Education Room Provided by Angie Natero, RN, IBCLC. HCMC Women’s Center Board Certified Lactation Consultant Each session will focus on a specific topic related to breastfeeding, but topics will be open to the needs of the participants and questions are welcome. Each class is FREE to moms who have delivered at HCMC within the last year or who are currently expecting and scheduled to deliver at HCMC. There will be a $10 charge per class for other participants. For more information, call (731) 644-8521 and leave a message and a nurse will return your call.
